Maxillofacial Diagnostics is the brainchild of Prof. Dr Tatu Joy and Prof. Dr Johnson KI, with over 20 years experience and is one of the first Oral Medicine and Radiology center in the country.

Over the twenty years, they were able to help about 3,00,000 patients achieve their goal of world class diagnosis and treatment for various ailments of the head and neck region. They are ably aided by the now young and dynamic Dr Nithin Thomas. In their zestful sojourn they became decorated for being the first to get a fully digital OPG and L.Ceph machine(2005),a CBCT machine to Kerala(2010).They have been motivation for many of the younger OMR post graduates to start similar centers which brought out a healthy revolution of proper diagnosis and planning in Kerala. The number of people this has helped is vast and unknown. They were also instrumental in getting the first ever Neuromuscular dentistry clinic in India (2015) up and running and are closely tied up with its growth. Currently the center is equipped with a full volume hybrid CBCT machine (Italy) and a part volume Hybrid CBCT (Germany) and a host of smaller machines along with the new entrant the 3D printer (USA).

Procedures range from as simple as Biopsies, comprehensive treatment planning ,Implant planning, Surgical guide designing and 3D printing to the very rare CBCT sialography (first to do this procedure in the country, 2010). The doctors you meet here are international and national level speakers in topics ranging from 3D printing, CBCT and Neuromuscular Dentistry. Cumulatively they have over 100 publications in national and international journals of which over twenty are original research articles. Through their sister concern ( the TMJ centre) they were able to treat successfully cases of trigeminal neuralgia, Asthma, Burning mouth syndrome and cases of Dystonia, over and above the 1200 treated for headaches ,neck aches and ear aches of TMJ origin.
